Welcome to AlterNative Hostel, the best place to stay in Cuenca, Ecuador. Our modern designed Hostel is perfect to relax and explore all that the city has to offer. Ideally located in the heart of the Historic District, AlterNative Hostel is right in front of the Pumapungo Museum and it's also 10 minutes walk from the city center (“El Centro”).
El Macario Café, a spectacular place to taste quality coffee, have a drink or have some light snacks with friends. El Macario Café is one of the social spaces of AlterNative Hostel, so here you can meet people from different parts of the world and enjoy an unforgettable experience. The idea to start El Macario was born out of our taste for coffee and, we recognize it, we are beverage enthusiasts. We would like you to try the best artisan coffee in the area and in the world, along with a menu of light meals and delicious fruit juices.
